What was I thinking?
Not too long into my "nap" Caroline came in and said, "Mommy, there's smoke in the kitchen." This was stated in an FYI tone, not an emergency, but I ran in the kitchen and discovered a bag of microwave scorched popcorn and 13 minutes left to go in the microwave! Grace and Caroline apparently were busy little chefs.
They also dumped a bunch of pretzels in the Legos bin. "What's this?" I asked. "It's pretzel Lego soup!" Grace replied. They were proud of their concoction.
I think I'll have to wait until Wesley's in Kindergarten to catch my next nap.

Are those moments lovely? Peter's sister (mother of 5) woke from a nap one afternoon to find an apple shoved in the toaster and their large couch tipped upside down, among other things.
Oh Becky, how I feel your pain! You have to be on 24/7 alert mode with children -- thank heavens it at least makes for a fun blog post!
We get that tornado OFTEN inside our house. And it's even worse when you have a Grace/Caroline and Lexie/Izzie team that put their heads together! I guess we're teaching our kids to be self-sufficient which is good! Keep telling yourself that! It WILL pay off....
Lego Pretzel Soup is my favorite! Ask Grace she can fix me some when I come visit!
Becky - you should know that watching a movie requires popcorn and a soda! Yum, Lego soup - sounds like something Mark would love! Oh, I remember those BUSY BUSY days and sleepless nights. I remember when older women would counsel me to cherish those times, because they pass by so quickly - I thought they were crazy. I didn't think I'd ever see the laundry room floor. Well, guess what - they were right - being an empty nester can be lonely (I do alway have a clean house now and hardly any noise - things I use to ask for - how silly to wish for those things!) ENJOY the noise and sleepless nights! Now I'm the old lady saying, "It will all pass by too quickly!!!!!"
Becky, I read your post yesterday and then last night I dreamed I microwaved popcorn for 13 minutes. So funny! Can you imagine if we got all of the cousins together and left them alone?! Aaaahhh!!!
LOL, classic!!
At least you know that your kids are normal. I would be in a jealous rage if you really did get to take a nap.
