I did a test run making these magnets for the end of the year teacher appreciation luncheon at Christina's school. I found a bulk deal on thinner super strong magnets, but I still like the way these turned out. If you haven't made them and want to know how, they are super easy and the sky is the limit for what you do for paper/expressions....
Supplies:
Jewel-It glue (found mine at Michael's)
Clear vase gem fillers found in the silk floral/floral arrangement supplies section at Michael's or Wal-Mart. These are sort of flat on one side and rounded on the other
3/4" circle magnets (at Michael's or larger bulk on ebay)
3/4" hole punch (Michael's scrapbook section)
paper of choice
Directions:
Optional- *Print expressions on paper (*use a laser printer, otherwise ink will bleed!)
Using hole punch, punch paper holes and set aside.
Line up magnets & put a dot of glue on each. Add the paper and press gently. Add another drop of glue. Add the gem, flat side down and press gently. Let dry.
For the teacher luncheon we're just going to post them on a large magnet board, but for smaller gifts you can give them in small tins (Altoid-size). I think they have those at Michael's too, but you can find them on-line as well.

Why is it that even simple things, I don't think I can do? These are darling, I should be able to do them, right? Hmmm...maybe not.
I did those for mom for Christmas--only I borrowed Tal's idea of using headshots of my kids instead of scrapbook paper. I love this for the teachers...thanks for being my motivation! Super cute!
oh, and you can buy the gift card tins to put them in at the register at Michaels for a buck!
Very cute. That's so funny though, because Brett is always talking about doing this...he's a crafty little thing.
I love these too. They are super simple and so cute. I made a ton of these for Mia's magnet board I made for her room and then sent a few to Julee and Mari. It's fun to personalize these for people. Great ideas for teachers, and I want to try to the picture ones too. Thanks for sharing your project ideas, I love getting more ideas.
Will you be selling them?!? Let's just say someone with red hair might be interested in buying some...
