I was going to complain that it's 1 degree outside & feels like -12, but then my friend, Gina shared that it's -41 with the windchill in WI. She's got a pile of snow in their bathtub for the kids to play with...she's always been a super fun and resourceful mom. So, I'm done complaining about freezing. I could be in Wisconsin or Alaska or Canada right now...all of which I'd love to visit on a warm, sunny day!
I'm doing a well-being challenge for the next 12 weeks and one of the tasks is to drink 64 oz of water each day. After running kids to school, I mixed 16 oz of piping hot water with cocoa. Does that count? It sure was perfect.
Cozy Warm wishes!
PS. Have you used the Pioneer Woman photoshop Actions yet? The actions to download (for free) are on her right sidebar. They're super easy to use; essentially you just press "play," but you can make adjustments if you want to. Directions are easy to follow. I used BOOST for the first photo and SUNSHINE for the second photo.

No, I think you can pretty much still complain about
12 BELOW with the wind chill. I think once the temps hit like 15 degrees, you've lost feeling in every body part anyway, so griping is okay at that point! Holy cow! That's awesome your friend filled her tub with snow---you don't have to get all dressed up in your gear and you can still play! I know what you'll be doing with the little ones this weekend!
Thanks for the photography tips! I think I could spend a lot of time on her site!
This afternoon is a sunny and roasty-toasty 55 degrees, which can only mean one thing---the next storm will hit tomorrow!
Here's to lavish amounts of medicinal doses of hot cocoa.
It has been in the 70's since last week here in Arizona. I just don't know what to do with myself ;)
I think you can still complain about it. But this is nothing compared to growing up in Nebraska and Montana. Coldest day I remember: -12 actual temp with -70 windchill (yes,--these are in fahrenheit).
I'm told I was brought home from the hospital as a newborn on a day that was 40 below (I'm guessing that's windchill rather than actual temp).
holy cow, L! I can't image -70. That's Alaska cold. Yesterday I told Wayne we clearly don't have enough cocoa in our food storage! It's been good medicine so far this winter.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend! ♥ Hugs :)
I don't know what I'd do with those temps! We were at the beach on Friday, and are going again tomorrow for the school holiday. Good luck with your well-being challenge! It's great!
Eek, I don't like cold weather. I like that we can have warmth & sunshine here and drive 45 minutes to the north if the kids want to play in some snow. I admire you for always finding a positive spin on things!
I love PW actions, but where are you getting Sunshine from?
I'd love some of your warm weather right now, Emily! The PW "sunshine" action is from her 2nd set of actions.
That's cold! Its suppose to be cold here this week in FL. I think the high for today is 54 degrees! That's cold for us! And, I think that hot chocolate water totally counts.
ha! Heather, I think I'm going to call it hot chocolate water from now on. That really does sounds much better:)
