We reused costumes from last year and the dress-up basket....Thomas was Anikan Skywalker again, Grace was a witch (the stick broom was Wayne's handiwork), Caroline was Cinderella, and Wesley was himself....Wesonator. He really doesn't like wearing his cape (thus the capeless photo below taken at the last stop of the night, our house). This little guy came to us with a "no fuss" attitude. This is usually great, unless I want him to sport the cape I made for him, or get a haircut....both situations seem to annoy Little Handsome. Christina didn't dress up this year, but was happy to help Wesley collect and eat Halloween candy.
We dumped the kids' candy from Trunk or Treating into a bowl and that's what we offered Trick or Treaters on Halloween night. 4 bags worth of candy in the house is beyond PLENTY!
Before the kids headed out, we had a simply spooky Halloween dinner with the missionaries:
Witches' Brew {a triple batch}
Graveyard Salad {garlic bread tombstones on leafy cemetery grounds}
Candy Corn Dessert {layered lemon and orange jello with whipped cream on top}
Wesley offered a "Dank you" after each trick or treating stop, and the kids all agreed that the best stop was Garrett's house where they got HUGE candy bars!
We hope you had a Happy Halloween!

We were so glad they came to our house! Just sad that Garrett wasn't awake to see them. He was worn out. (Full disclosure - I was worn out too. I was laying down and almost asleep, but heard Grace's voice and had to come downstairs.)
Love the costumes! Mattie and Caroline would have had a wonderful time being twiner Cinderellas! Your Halloween dinner once again sounded yummy. I love that you are so creative!
You know, I did the very same thing this year--Friday night was trunk or treat (round 2) and Saturday morning I gathered up all that was left--at least two big bowls full--and we gave it out as our own candy that night to the real trick or treaters. I think the dinner sounds adorable and the costumes were awesome. I'm beginning to realize as I now stare down my hopes for a (mostly) homemade Christmas that you are WAAAAY ahead of the game, since I spent all of September and October working on Halloween while you were able to really get started on Christmas. Maybe next year some of mine will go diving into the costume bins in the basement!
The kids look so cute and I'm glad you got a shot of Christina helping :) Also love the "Blessed" Entry. Very very cute family !
We also had treats at our Trunk or treat. I have always served Cider warm but we had cider cold. I went home and drank more of our fresh stuff from the orchard. SOOOO good. Who'd a thunk it :)
The kids look great! Great idea to recycle the candy for trick or treaters.
