For my girls...

A few years ago I fell in love with
Spring Fever by Buggy Barn and had the grand idea of sewing 3 of these quilts for my girls.  Well, it took a while (and finding an amazing and affordable long arm quilter in Iowa), but they are DONE, finished, complete, and are already being put to good use.  This calls for the dance of joy!

A note on the binding.... These quilts are nearly twin size and so the binding was going to be a lot of material, or a lot of good 'ol store bought binding.  I debated on going to our local Jo-Ann's, but decided to rummage through my remnants instead.  You see, I've been influenced by Wayne's Grandma W. in this way.  She was so thrifty and hated to see the littlest scrap of material or notion go to waste.  She gave me pieces of 10" long lace trim just in case I could use them.  A few years ago when I started quilting baby blankets, and had my first case of "what to do for binding," I felt a stroke of inspiration to piece together remnants and make my own binding.  I did this for quilt backings too and I've always been happy with the results.  I'm thankful for Gma. W. and for this sweet and simple guidance I feel she's given me.  Christina's binding was fabric I've had for years...basic pink gingham.  Grace's and Caroline's are remnants of the fabric I used to make these quilts.  Grace's binding is continuous and Caroline's ends at each corner.

Stitched with lots of love,
Mom (or as Caroline would say, "Mudder")

I clicked on the link for Spring Fever by Buggy Barn, and saw that it was only $22. And, thinking that was for the actual quilt, thought "wow, she's crazy to want to do this herself instead of buying it from here." Just as I was about to load up my virtual shopping cart with quilts for everyone, I realized it was the pattern. That's how clueless I am, so you can imagine how impresesd I am with your super cute quilts. Way to go!

The quilts are gorgeous! I have many unfinished quilt fronts, none as beautifully complicated as yours, but you have inspired me to get my quilting frame fixed!
And about the chocolates, yes, my ward has got it goin ON. I'm sure they are not cheap, but my bishop rocks and knows how important it is to lavish us women with chocolate. So did Wayne come thru yet?

I'm sitting in AWE. What a sweet treasure you have for your girls! They turned out amazing--can't put a price on those! We love our little mini one you made for Vivie when she was first born. Was that the same remnants you used for your girls? Yes, and it's so very true about Gma W....what an inspiration.

You are awesome Becky!! How you you do it??

I'm afraid the closed thing these fingers get to quilting is typing "Pottery Barn" in Google....
