... two tees for Wesley who happens to be an invaluable rock star babe in our family band. I used a font called "cooper" for the "W" and I enlarged it as much as possible to fit on one page. I think it was 400 or so. The guitar is just freeform. I may stitch around it again with brown thread....not sure:)
Happy Birthday to Sweetpea, Sunshine & Cutie....
I've had the idea for these pillow shams swimming around in my head since Garnet Hill sold similar shams. I made these shams to coordinate with the quilts I made for our girls. I measured the width and length of a standard pillow sham for my pattern and freestyled the letters so it looks handwritten. I made one for each of our girls for their birthdays and had them pick out all of the fabric and trim from what I had on hand, so they really love their new pillow .
Resources: The ruffle trim for "Cutie" came from the top of the flat sheets I used for the backs of their quilts. I think gathering and making ruffles is a big pain, so I was glad to repurpose this trim.
*To make this super fast & easy, you could buy a pre-made pillow sham and just add the applique using the fusible web, etc. Bed Bath & Beyond has basic white shams with a simple ruffle and I almost went that route before I realized I had resources on hand.
Here's a cute personalized pillow for a boy.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pillows!!! Great, now I have to make one for Kate. Nice job, sis!
Wow! These came out so cute! I am going to steal this idea and make some pillows for Juliana to go along with a quilt I am making for her. Amazing job Becky!
You're so creative, Becky. I especially, LU-UUUV those pillows. I'll bet the girls are loving them.
So Cute!!!
So cute! Can't wait for the kids to get back to school so I can start sewing. I have a million ideas in my head.
Sorry to hear you've all been sick... that is no way to spend a summer!!!!! Your appliques are very cute!!!! jan
Once again, you are a-mazing!
Whenever I visit after being away for a while, I am always amazed at all the stuff you've been up to! I love the appliques and someday, maybe mid-January, I'll have a minute to look into that. Right now I am up to my elbows in Josie's baptism dress. It's fun but I've been struggling to make her a white dress that doesn't look bridal. I've ended up doing a white cotton sateen and using a champaign colored satin for the sash/bow. So now we just look like one of the wedding party instead :)
And then right around the corner is Halloween! I can't wait, actually. But here we go....full steam ahead until new years.
Very cute stuff! I'm very impressed.
I love the colors and the way you sewed it. Incredibly creative AS USUAL
Oh!

I'm thinking about feeling inspired by all of these beautiful creations of yours.

You are amazing. I think I type the same comment each time I visit your blog! These are really adorable. Love the rock star guitar for Wesley.
I am SO glad to see after a few weeks of non-blogging (and the ensuing guilt produced) that I haven't missed anything from you. I now give us both permission to resume blogging.
