Happiness is....
Spending the morning with dear friends making good on our peach spoils from Tougas Farm. We went from peaches in boxes...

to peaches processing in Mason Jars....

to the sweet sound of lids popping, sealing in the goodness of orchard fresh peaches....

My dear, sweet Wesley...
I got a call from Liesl asking if I was missing my cell phone. Turns out while we were canning peaches you were hiding my cell phone in Liesl's kitchen cabinets. You make me laugh!

It was a fun day!
I miss canning oodles of yummy peaches!
So fun! The peaches look great!
Yummm! Too funny about Wes hiding your phone. I gave up on nice cell phones a long time ago because between me, Jonas & Makai, we manage to go through them pretty quick!
YUMMY - I can almost smell those peaches -
A friend of mine who cans and cans keeps her spoils lining the tops of her kitchen cabinets (the cabinets don't go all the way to the ceiling). She uses them up each year, so she doesn't worry about the light/temperature fluctuation. She just likes to see her hard work in all it's glory whenever she is in her kitchen. I can understand why. You must feel pretty great about getting all those peaches "put up" for your family.
Julie, that's a great idea, esp. since I only canned 7 jars, so we'll used them within this winter for sure. I love the look of mason jars and glass on shelves too, so maybe I'll go that route. Hmmm, you've got me thinking! Thanks for the tip.
It was amazing how beautiful the center of the fresh picked peaches were. At the pit, it's a raspberry color, not dark at all. They actually looked pretty canned.
I love that tip about storing the canned jars on top of kitchen cabinets. I think I'm going to put that into practice, since I'm short on pantry space. Pressure canning is on my list of things to learn and do. Your peaches look yummy!
Give that cute baby a big kiss for me on those sweet cheeks!
