Last week was peak time for foliage, so everywhere we went with Matthew, Heather & Mattie was a scenic drive featuring pops of orange, red, and yellow leaves against evergreens and black branches. At times vast views of hillsides (or as Caroline would say "the Rockies") dotted with colorful foliage made us pause mid-conversation to take note. We LOVE autumn in New England.
Our other favorite thing to do is to go apple picking. I just found Matt's pics from the orchard (I forgot my memory card), so I'm just now getting orchard pics on the blog. These are photos from last year and this year. Grace happens to be wearing the same skorts! Mattie MoMo is cute as can be.
We hope to see Mattie & family in the orchard next year so we can make more fun memories among the Cortlands & JonaGolds, & top our days off with cider donuts & apple treats. We love you & hope you enjoyed autumn in New England this year! We LOVED sharing it with you.

So fun! Looks beautiful, wish we could be there.
I love that Caroline refers to them as "the Rockies". I somehow feel responsible :)
Our Fall color was slow in coming (and truly nothing compared to what you guys are blessed with out in your neck of the Rockies) but when things finally got going last week--Wowee wow wow--I LOVE Fall! Everything is blowing away this week and soon we'll be left with nothing but sticks until April. But right now all the crunchy leaves feel very Octoberish.
Your girls are so adorable. I love the "signature" Caroline expression in all her shots. Very cute, ladies.
Thanks so much! We had soooooo much fun with you guys! The autumn leaves were beautiful, and the weather was amazing. I love the picture of Mattie, Grace and Caroline from last year and then the one from this year. We will most definitely be back next fall!
By the way, I love your new header. The picture of you and Wayne kissing in front of the temple is so great!
And, did you know that there is a big picture of the Boston Temple in the new Nursery manual? We just got ours and we were looking at it with Mo, and we saw it, and talked about how she played there in the grass with her cousins!
cute pictures! Cousin Mattie fits right in with your clan.
I hate to complain but it's been in the mid 90's here with Santa Ana's...a little too reminiscent of last years fire storms. We're longing for that crisp air and at least a few turned leaves! I'm glad you are enjoying your autumn with fun family 'field trips!'
