We have family portrait issues
This week we made a few valiant attempts at yet another family portrait. For one series I had forgotten to take my sunglasses off and 5 minutes later when I realized this and tried for another family picture sans sunglasses, Grace was missing her headband and I didn't realize this until after that series of photos. Then there's Thomas' cooky smile...I don't know what to make of it, but it makes me laugh more than anything. Wesley was either uninterested in sitting still until we got him clapping, or for the photos at the park he was so fascinated with the water fountain we could hardly get him to look at the camera. I could go on. We keep trying, and at this point we have fun with it. After scores of camera clicks, this is one of my favorites....

well, at least you guys were feelin the love...even though the kids weren't cooperating.
CUTE! (and funny) because I feel your pain. I dread the family photo day.
I'm a big fan of candids!!
That is fantastic. We had similar issues with G-Man today. He would NOT hold still.
That is so cute and so true to reality with the kids going every direction. Great picture!
I like this photo too! But, I love the one on your side bar! So cute. We had a great time this week. Thank you so much for letting us come and experience Fall with you guys!
You must use this one for the Christmas Letter. Must.
you couldn't have gotten a better shot!
Who was your photographer--Mr. tripod? Christina steals it--completely--hillarious! You will always love this one!
Uncle Matt took the picture. I thought Caroline was hilarious b/c she and Grace usually gravitate in between Wayne and I when we get cuddly and huggy in front of the kids. Caroline still comes between Wayne and I in the wee hours of the morning too. So her place in this photo is very typical.
So, this is my new plan of action with family photos... "Kids, give us 10 posed family shots and then we'll do the reality shot where you do whatever as long as you're in the shot." I have a feeling the candids will always be our favorites. We just are lame posers;)
I'm sure you got some great shots! I love they layout - even if it's not perfect.
